2.1 Definition of Toolbox Meeting
In general Toolbox meetings or sometimes there are those
calling it safety talks or sometimes also P5M material is one way
easy to remind workers that health and safety is important
in work. Each talk can take about five minutes
and can help workers identify and control hazards to
project or work. It also shows the commitment of entrepreneurs
and workers on safety and health.
According to (Anonymous, 2019) the Toolbox meeting or what is also commonly called
Safety talk is an effort to remind workers
about the importance of occupational health and safety in the work area. Usually
the material provided through the toolbox meeting is specific to
work environment, carried out in a specific scope of work and not
should always be done in a special room. Simply by giving
briefing in an open area, because at its core is communication
about telling how to always carry out the rules of health
and work safety.
According to (Iswendi Dedi, 2017) Toolbox meetings are a kind of
briefing on occupational safety and health (K3) on the project.
Participating in this Toolbox meeting sometimes makes workers feel bored
because the material presented is repeated. Is an activity
in an effort to prevent accidents in the workplace, and various
types of work that can be discussed to then be implemented and
practiced in the field.
A study from Kaskutas, et al (2016) reveals about
the benefits to be gained after conducting a safety talk program
and occupational health at work. They provide intervention
